For the last few months I have been working on an investigation into football agents with the rather wonderful Nigerian journalists Yemisi Akinbobola and Ogechi Ekeanyawu. You can now read the resulting story on both IQ4News and Nigeria’s Premium Times.

The investigation was funded through Journalismfund.eu’s Connecting Continents programme and involved key contributions from David Blood, Leila Haddou, Caroline Beavon, and members of Hacks/Hackers Birmingham alongside OpenCorporates’s Hera Hussain and George Turner from The Offshore Game. In many ways the project has just started: there are so many aspects to follow up.

Meanwhile, Journalismfund.eu has now launched a new grant programme for Flemish and Sub-Sahara African journalists to work together, so if you have an appropriate idea for a project (including following up on this one) it’s well worth applying.
